5 Ways to Get in the Holiday Spirit

log cabin decorated with Christmas decor, from Christmas stockings hung above the fireplace to a Christmas tree

It’s the season to celebrate! The holidays are all about showing gratitude and rejoicing in your life and the people who are in it. It's about joining in the festivities and embracing all things Christmas!

If you seem to be having a hard time getting into the holiday spirit, here are 5 ways that may help!

  1. Window Shop

Finding the perfect gift for your family and loved ones is one of the best feelings in the world, but it might not be something you can do all at once. Window shopping helps you pick out what you want and plan to get it when you can. You can also shop online to avoid the crowds of the holiday season.

  1. Give Back

The holidays are all about giving, so why not give back? Donate to a local food pantry or volunteer at a food bank where you can help deliver meals or stock shelves with food.

  1. Turn Up Some Music

Play some Christmas music to really get in the holiday spirit! Find a playlist online or create your own collection of your favorite holiday songs. Turn up the music and have yourself an impromptu dance party!

  1. Decorate

There's nothing like seeing the beautiful twinkle of lights around the neighborhood. Get your own decorations out and spruce up the inside and outside of your own house.

  1. Watch Movies

There's nothing quite like cozying up to a good old fashioned Christmas movie. Here are just a few of my personal favorites:
  • 8 Crazy Nights
  • Christmas Comes but Once a Year
  • How the Grinch Stole Christmas
  • Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
  • The Nightmare Before Christmas
  • The Year Without Santa Clause
  • Elf
  • It’s a Wonderful Life
  • White Christmas
