3 Healthy Halloween Recipes So Simple It’s Scary

Halloween is right around the corner and if you’re like us, you’re ready to get spooky! There’s going to be lots of treats that are going to try and give you a real scare.

Don’t worry, we have three delicious, yet spooky treats that won’t give you the "heebie jeebies."

1. Monster Apple Bites

For this recipe, you will need:

  • 2 green apples, each quartered
  • Any nut or seed butter
  • 32 sunflower seeds
  • 2–3 strawberries, sliced
  • 1–2 googly eyes per apple bite

Directions: Cut the middles out of each quarter of the apple to create a mouth. Coat the inside of the cut gap with any nut or seed butter you prefer. Place 4 sunflower seeds on the top of the “mouth” for the teeth. Place 1 sliced strawberry inside the mouth for the tongue. “Glue” each eye above the mouth with a dab of nut or seed butter to stick.

2. Frozen “Boo-nana” Pops

For this recipe, you will need:

  • 2 medium bananas
  • 2 cups of good quality white chocolate
  • 8 mini chocolate chips for eyes
  • 4 popsicle sticks

Directions: Cut bananas in half. Insert popsicle sticks into bananas, and freeze bananas on a wax paper lined cookie sheet. When the bananas are frozen, fill a coffee mug with chocolate. Melt chocolate in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time, stirring until the chocolate is melted and soft. Dip the bananas one at a time into the chocolate and place it on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper. Quickly add the chocolate chips for the eyes before the chocolate hardens. Return to the freezer until frozen and ready to eat. Eat frozen.

3. Candy Corn Fruit Cocktail

For this recipe, you will need:

  • 2 cups pineapple cut into bite sized chunks
  • 2 cups oranges cut into bite sized chunks (or small Cuties)
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • 1/4 cup candy corn
  • 4 clear glasses (stemless wine glasses)

Directions: In 4 clear glasses, evenly divide and layer pineapple, then oranges, and top with whipped cream and a couple pieces of candy corn. Serve right away or refrigerate until ready to serve.
